Blessed Valentine's Day!

Sorry I couldn’t post this on V day itself as I had a small break up with my laptop, and then I had to take it to nice PC shop, then what we patched up again. These PC’s nah trust me they too need an equal pampering like your lovers. Since I love my laptop and when it broke up with me on V day I was really disheartened, but cupid didn’t wanted me to be upset , so cupid made it miraculous for me.
Now let me grab your attention to the world renowned day for lover’s i.e. Valentines Day. Even before the day starts there is much hype about this day, we can read lot about love in news papers, can see lot of advertisement in idiot box, can read lot of predictions and compatibility test of various zodiac signs etc.
In Shakespeare’s drama “Merchant of Venice “a character named Jessica says: “Love is blind and lovers cannot see the pretty follies that themselves commit.” Love was blind during Shakespeare’s time but not any more, today for youngsters like us love has become a commercialized thing. It’s really funny, but that’s the truth.
Well now let me tell you what was there in store for me on this special day.
14th Feb 2009: I woke up from my sweet dreams when I heard my cell phone ringing, “gosh my sister” I said as I saw her name flashing on the screen. I pressed the green button and she spoke from other side “before you leave from home just give me a call, I will be waiting for you near central secretariat metro station, okay! and please be on time” after saying that she banged the phone. Then I remembered, I had told her that I will be staying at her hostel for a day before leaving Delhi, during my Delhi visit. I got ready and reached at the metro station near to my uncle’s house and from there I had to take three metro trains to reach at my sister’s place.
As I reached metro station I could make out that it was V day, “there is really something special about this day”, I thought as I saw few youngsters carrying flowers, cards, a big smile and excitement on there face, but to my astonishment more than youngsters there were young married couples with there small babies and most of them were baby girls. “Strange, may be it’s week end that’s why?” I thought and walked towards the platform and waited there for the arrival of train. I was surrounded by young married couples carrying there babies. As I saw babies I had a strange feeling that all babies are looking at me then someone inside my skull screamed “Jinsy, you are crazy if you look at someone they will also look back at you even if they are babies” and I said “yeah true”. Next minute train arrived doors opened automatically and I stepped in manually, got a seat near the door itself, by luck. In metro’s you have to be lucky to get seat. Inside train there were lot of excited faces carrying flowers, gift etc. , lot of disheartened faces thinking about there lost loves and some expressionless faces , these faces are difficult one to understand , no one can guess whether they are happy or sad. Among all these people I could see 5-6 babies and all were looking happy “Babies love travelling, I guess” I thought.
After few min I heard the announcement “The next station is Kahmere gate, please change here for red line”. “Oh! I have to get down” I thought and got up from my seat. As soon as I got up one lady with a baby sat on my seat. I saw the baby, she was wearing light blue frock with lot of frills and had two milk teeth like bunny and I guess she might have been a year old. As soon as she saw me she started smiling showing her bunny teeth , I felt weird but then I too smiled back then I started gazing outside to see whether the platform has reached or not. Next second I could feel someone pulling my kurta I looked down it was same baby then I glanced at her again and gave a smile. Her mother took her hand from my kurta and tried to grab her attention to another kid nearby, but this baby girl she again started pulling my kurta and then she started giving flying kiss. This time I was totally confused, so I just tried to shake hands with her. By that time the train stopped and I got down, after getting down I looked at the baby again, I was wonderstruck to see her looking at me and waving hands and she was continuously smiling showing her bunny teeth. “Strange” I thought and moved towards another platform as I have to catch two more metro trains to reach at my sister’s place.
I got into another train to get down at Rajiv chowk, this time the train was very crowded and I wasn’t lucky enough to get seat, so I was standing and staring at the flashing board at the same time thinking about that baby and her innocent smile. My concentration broke, when I heard a baby crying. I looked at her, she was playing tantrums with her mother, she wanted to sit on the floor of train and her mother was trying hard to keep her on the seat. Finally she won and she got down from the seat. Next minute she came near me and started pulling my kurta. I was aghast and said “not again” and thought “Definitely, there is something wrong with my kurta, or these kids won’t pull it. It can mean only two things either these kids are fascinated with my kurta or they don’t want to see me in this kurta”. Like last time I gave her a smile, but she didn’t leave me she started playing with my kurta and started laughing, but this time no mothers came for my rescue. My destination arrived I got down and when I looked back I saw her waving her hand at me.
“Everything that happens once can never happen again. But everything that happens twice will surely happen a third time." I thought about these lines from Alchemist and moved forward to another platform, as I stepped down from the escalators I felt like someone grabbing my feet, I looked down and saw a small boy holding my leg then I turned back and saw his mother running towards me. She said “he is just 2 years old and see how naughty he is” and I said “yeah” then she took him and started walking away, but the boy turned back and gave a smile and waved his hand at me. I was happy and felt blessed and thought “babies are the angels send by God, and these angles have wished you Valentines Day. Happy Valentines’ Day, Jinsy”.
In the evening I took my bible and read the lines about love written in bible. It goes like this:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. . .And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. [ 1 Corinthians 13:4-13]
An unconditional love is like that, i.e God’s love. Does this love exist among us??

Branded Love

Does true love exist in this 21st century or has it dissolved itself in romantic novels, movies or old tales. In movies, novels and all we can hear about the stories of great lovers like Radha and Krishna, Romeo and Juliet, Heer and Ranjan, Shah Jahan and Mumtaz and the new one Jodha and Akbar, I never knew that they were great lovers until and unless I saw the movie, but who is greatest lovers in this century? Are they among us??
Well one quote has always attracted me a lot, and that is “The only constant thing in this world is change” and that’s there everything has changed even the meaning of love.
Just look around you can you see anyone committed with one person for a long time without any conditions. An unconditional love, is it there?? For the youngsters like us making a boyfriend and girl friend has just became a “Fad” not even “fashion” as fashion remains to be for a longer period in the market. It’s like wearing a branded stuff. Take a case of guys they prefer to have a Rebook or Nike shoes, Pepe jeans and say a cool Peter England shirt, fast track’s sunglasses and off course can it be less than swizz watches, well if you can afford one or say titan watches and to fit all these things they prefer a well build gym body, but still the poor chap can’t be glamorous fellow until and unless he got a girl friend. Don’t be in so hurry you think any girl will do for such brand conscious and glamour’s guys no, here you make the mistake. They want beautiful, sexy and smart girls. Guys one more thing you got to have a big heart to spend likewise because money has its own language and glamour. Now let’s look at the other picture what does a girl do and what is her perception about love and boy friends.
Few decades before, we use to hear that the girl from a well off family ran away with the milk-man, post-man, driver etc.. but now it has changed even girls have changed, they know that milk-man, post-man can’t be your lovers as status matters.
Although till now in some areas even I do agree our society is a male dominated society, but not like before girls are becoming smarter and her perception is changing, very few girls prefer to get married have kids and settle down, they want their own independence, free of thought and off course a glamour’s guy who can be carried like a branded accessories. Girls still prefer a guy who is much more capable than her, its female psychology.
So where is love gone either it’s hiding under your conditions or under your circumstances you name it or blame it.
If you have something unique or something common it should match with the trend, then you will get love.
Funny world with funny people, but I still love this world because I am also the part of it may be funny!!

A splendid evening with Andy

“Oh those white legs, they look so sexy!” screamed Andy , I just kept my coffee on table and looked at Andy , he said “look there” and I could see two pairs of leg of two old white men sitting inside an auto. Then I gave a glance to Anu and Faiz and we all broke into laughter and I said “Andy, you are so crazy for whites that you didn’t even notice it is leg of old men” and he said “Jinsy, I am crazy for whites and I don’t care if it’s man or women, anyway white females are so hot” and I was aghast as I noticed his face, it was blushing, it became like chocolate and his eyes were looking like chocolate chips as Andy’s complexion is dark so it can’t be better than the color of chocolate and his eyes better than chocolate chips, to describe as well as to look :)
Okay ! now let me introduce you to Andy. An MBA in marketing and systems, good guitarist and singer, he was born in Kuwait, brought up in India and wants to become an American, so, sometimes he tries to talk like American Yankee by rolling the ‘R’s ‘and joining words :). He is very obsessed about his hair, and he takes very good care of it, in fact, he washes it with drinking water, now don’t assume his hair to be as long as Arjun Rampal’s in the movie “Rock on”, Andy has small hair which is properly trimmed and managed well. His second obsession is his complexion. Since he wants to be an American and passionate about whites he wants to look fair. In spite of using tubes of fair and handsome poor chap couldn’t make it better. Well it’s not his mistake, in the advertisement Shahrukh really gives hopes and inspiration to guys by making all hot beauties dance around the guys while saying “hi handsome”. His third obsession is to carry himself well, he always has good attire to match the situation, in fact always formals .So this was the small introduction about Andy. Being my batch mate and best friend of my best friend that is Anu he became my friend.
Now let’s get back to the CafĂ© CoffeeDay (CCD) and a splendid evening with Andy. This was our last meeting since all our exams were over and everyone of us were going back to our places for our respective tasks, so the mood was little gloomy , but the aroma of coffee and chocolate sauce in CCD and rain outside which we saw from the glass window of CCD made the mood light and relaxing. We were talking less and each one of us were looking outside to see the hustle and bustle of people due to rain and now and then we would give glance to each other and sometimes laughter would break out or just a simple smile. At times we would even do some conversation to lighten up the mood. Among all these things I forget to mention about one character that is Faiz, a good and renowned dancer of our batch and very quiet guy especially if he is in group. Once being my boy enemy and now a friend, we does not have much to talk, because if we talk it wouldn’t be more than fights so I thought not to awaken the devils residing in him and make the scenario worst. But he as usual would like to start of with some conversation which would make me and Anu bit irritated and all of a sudden in such situation the scream about white legs made us laugh with our heads on heels.
When Andy said “Jinsy, Iam crazy about whites” I said “even they are crazy for blacks” and then I noticed his face he was looking somewhat lost. I think may be in the dream of some white. After a long pause Andy broke his silence may be after thinking a lot he said “If India was as prosperous country like America then we could has also outsourced our services to Americans, and just imagine all the whites would come to me for jobs” after hearing this Faiz’s got very exited and I just noticed his face, his excitement made his eyes come out of his socket and he said “yeah! All the white girls will be after us for jobs, and if I am hiring I will hire only girls” and I started wondering if really such situation happened then it will be very funny. It will be so hard to train Americans for accent, because in India there are so many accents. Malayalam accent, Tamil accent, Bihar accent, Bengali accent etc. Moreover only urban population of India speaks English and rest of the population speaks their own local language with such thoughts inside my skull I just looked at Andy and asked “how is it possible, only urban population in India speaks English?” He said “yeah”.
Now I am not writing this blog to pull someone’s leg or to play with anyone’s sentiment. I am just wondering how things can be changed, hope the time will come when we have enough jobs in India that we will have to outsource our work to Americans and as developed as America so that we won’t be called as third world countries and the youngsters like Andy ambition will not be to become American but INDIAN, but few things can’t be changed like Indians crazy for whites and Americans crazy for brownies.
Well no one can be blamed the other side of grass is always green!!

Somtimes....

Sometimes life offers you different paths, all paths may elude you. One may look better than the other. In this dilemma, you might take a wrong path and the time when you realize that you have taken a wrong path and then it becomes the biggest mistake of your life. So think twice, analyze the entire situation, and think about the people who will be affected by your decision and then take further steps.
Whatever you do, do in such a way that you don’t regret in the end as opportunity will not knock every time you desire.
Don’t overrate your weakness, or try to run away from it and don’t be ignorant enough to hide your weakness with external sources. Your weakness is yours , all humans have weakness as no one is perfect, instead of taking external support try to face your weakness, analyze it and try to make it your strength , and the day when you make your weakness as strength that day you will get eternal bliss.
One should never forget that one’s existence is not for the self, but one’s existence may be the reason of thousand of existence.
When there is complete darkness in your life, the only hope you can have is that sometimes God’s blessings come by shattering all the windows.

Have Patience...

...have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to look at the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answer, they cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present, you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer some distant day.

Wish fulfilling tree!!

"We are shaped by our thoughts and become what we think. When the mind is pure joy follows like a shadow that never leaves". Buddha
I think in everyone’s life there comes a time when a person takes a “U’ turn, it could be either because of some circumstances or a change in mind. Change in mind can lead to a revolution in life. A willingness to take responsibility and creation of our own misery, joy, negativity, positivity, hell or heaven can change our life and its outlook.
Here is the story which influenced me and changed my thinking as well as my perception towards life.
Once, a man entered paradise by accident. In paradise there is belief that there a wish-fulfilling trees. Sit under one of those trees, desire anything, and bingo…the desire is fulfilled. There is no gap between the desire and the fulfillment.
The man was so tired, that he slept under one of those wish-fulfilling trees.
When he woke up, he felt hungry. He desired food and immediately food appeared out of nowhere- floating in the air ….a variety of delicious foods. Ummm
He was so hungry that he did not bother to enquire where the food came from...
When you are hungry, you are not philosophical. He immediately started eating the delicious food. After a while he felt satisfied. Another thought arose in him ‘if only I could get something to drink.’ Immediately, precious wine appeared.
Drinking the wine leisurely in the cool breeze in paradise, under the shade of the tree, he started wondering. ‘What is going on?’ What is happening? Am I in a dream? Or are there some ghosts around who are playing tricks with me?”
And ghost appeared. They were ferocious, horrible and nauseating. And he started trembling, and a thought arose in him: “Now I am sure to be killed.”
And he was killed.
This parable is very ancient and has immense significance. Our minds are wish-fulfilling trees. Whatsoever we think is fulfilled, sooner or later. Sometimes the gap is so wide that one forgets what the desire was wished for? But by being observant and watching from your own personal experience, we will come to the understanding that it is our thought that is creating us and our life.
We create hell, we create heaven. We create misery and we create joy. We create the negative as well as the positive.
Everyone is unique. Like the spider that spins its own web and eventually get caught in it. We too are spinning in our webs and getting caught in them.
Thus, we have to understand this and I am sure things will start changing!!

Well remember one more thing “YOU ARE UNIQUE LIKE EVERYONE” !!
